Trust Activities

Every successful organization should aim at giving something back to the society. Giving back to the society not only makes us more generous, it also gives us a sense of purpose and happiness. With this in mind, we started Vikas Charitable Trust at Kirloskar Brothers Limited in the year 1994.

Since its very inception, Vikas Charitable Trust is actively engaged in community development and has sought ways to enhance education and health care to the needy. In the endeavor, we are working on 50-55 secondary schools in 6 tehsils. 2000 plus teachers are engaged in empowering knowledge to 42,000 students. Mainly the 6 tehsils in Sangli district like Palus, Walva, Tasgaon, Khanapur, Kadegaon and Miraj are the major field-work places. Apart from this, the trust also provides services in other parts of country like Kondhapuri , Shirwal ,Dewas, Coimbatore and Ahmadabad.

To create a sustainable world of equal opportunities and to the enrich lives of those bright students who are unable to study for want of finance and guidance, our volunteers are toiling without charging any remuneration. Today the Vikas Charitable Trust is excelling in glamour and glory only because of financial help rendered by Kirloskar Brothers Limited and few voluntary donors and also along with the untiring efforts by our staff employees and volunteers.

    WASH Training

About 50% of the developing world's population - almost 3 billion people - lack good sanitation facilities and over 900 million people still use unsafe drinking water. WASH supports the national and state governments in developing and implementing a range of replicable intervention models for sanitation, hygiene and water supply.

In accordance with the concern of Late Shri Shantanurao Kirloskar towards improving conditions of cleanliness and discipline locally and his zeal to make a difference, we introduced the correct way to wash hands with soap in numerous schools. This was a joint initiative with the UNICEF WASH program.

The level of investment in water and sanitation, albeit low by international standards, has increased in size during the recent years. Vikas Charitable Trust took on this challenge and provided safe drinking water to the rural population.
